Do you want to travel abroad?
In many cases, the country of destination sets requirements to prevent the import of the coronavirus. Often a PCR test, NAAT test or antigen test with explanation is needed. Speed Covid Test provides these tests.
Traveling in a hurry? With the NAAT (PCR) test a travel document within 20 minutes
In case the virus is in the body, the genetic material will be amplified (many copies made) using the NAAT method. By amplifying the nucleic acids, NAATs can detect very small amounts of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in a sample, making these tests very sensitive for diagnosing Covid-19. In other words, NAATs can reliably detect small amounts of SARS-CoV-2 and are unlikely to give a false negative result of SARS-CoV-2.
Speed Covid Test is the first in the Netherlands with the NAAT technology. The potential advantage of the technique we use over standard PCR is the higher speeds and lower energy requirements. Speed Covid Test is a nationally operating test center and the first in the Netherlands to use this new method. This technology has been used abroad for some time.
Enkele voordelen van de NAAT (PCR) zijn
- Binnen 20 minuten een testuitslag
- Uitsluitend een wattenstaaf in de neus
- Net zo betrouwbaar als de standaard PCR test
- Overal ter wereld reizen
- RIVM goedgekeurd
- Inclusief gratis reisdocument
Urgent PCR test within 4 hours
The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) is a method to explicitly multiply one or more parts from a minimal collection of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) until there are enough to analyze the DNA. The PCR test is used worldwide to show whether someone is infected with the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). The material is examined in a RIVM-certified laboratory. This results in a negative or positive test result. The standard PCR test is the most commonly used test in the Netherlands. However, the test is more labor intensive compared to the NAAT (PCR). This ensures that it takes longer before the result is known.
Some advantages of the Emergency PCR are
- Urgent PCR result possible within 4 hours
- RIVM approved
- Includes free international travel document
- Available at most locations
Saliva test PCR
Research has been done on testing using saliva. The study suggested that saliva could be an accessible diagnostic method for detecting the presence of Coronavirus. The study looked at the results of 3 different studies; in Italy, in Hong Kong and in Shenzhen. All studies have shown that the Coronavirus is indeed present in the saliva of COVID-19 patients. In Italy 87%, Hong Kong 91.6% and Shenzhen 100% of the patients. This suggests from research that saliva and thus the saliva test is potentially a very useful source of diagnosis.
Some advantages of the Saliva Test PCR are
- No swab in the nose and pharynx
- Accessible to both children and adults
- Research sample by a RIVM-approved laboratory
- As reliable as the PCR test used by GGD
- Optional with international travel document
Saliva rapid test antigen
The antigen saliva test is a corona test that uses a non-invasive method. Saliva from your mouth is used for this. The corona saliva test stands for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigen. This assay works with great accuracy due to the affinity between ACE2 receptors and S proteins. In addition, the test is also sensitive to various mutants.
- Results within 15 minutes
- RIVM approved
- Antigen test with free international travel document
