What is a PCR test?
The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) is a method to explicitly multiply one or more parts from a minimal collection of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) until there are enough to analyze the DNA. The PCR test is used worldwide to show whether someone is infected with the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). The material is examined in a RIVM-certified laboratory. This results in a negative or positive test result.
Why a PCR test?
The PCR has a high sensitivity. The PCR can detect the coronavirus with minimal amounts of NRA. There is a good chance that a positive result will arise in a person infected with corona. This is why the PCR is considered the most reliable test worldwide.
